  • Do I need a referral or prescription to start the therapy with RPT in Home?
No. Florida is a direct access state, meaning you are not required to see a physician before consulting a physical therapist for an examination and treatment. A prescription for therapy is optional and encouraged by the patient's doctor. This means the patient can either contact their M.D. first and request a prescription to be faxed to us, or they can contact us directly, and we can secure a prescription from the M.D. Please give us a call at (954) 860-3117 for more information.
  • What insurance do you take?
We are Medicare B provider. Medicare covers 80% of your bill, the remaining one may be covered by your secondary insurance or it will be your responsibility. You need to be 65+ to qualify for Medicare services.
  • Is RPT in-home therapy provided by a home health agency?
No. Our business operates as a Medicare Part B in-home private practice, similar to therapists employed in outpatient therapy clinics.
  • What is the difference between in-home outpatient therapy and home health therapy?
Home health physical therapy is billed under Medicare Part A, while in-home outpatient physical therapy is billed under Medicare Part B. There are two benefits for patients: As an outpatient provider, we are open to seeing patients for a more extended period if medically necessary. The patients we work with do not have to be homebound, unlike those who need home health services.
  • Why seniors should opt for in-home physical therapy with RPT in Home instead of clinic-based therapy?
Choosing Restoration Physical Therapy in Home ensures personalized, one-on-one care in the comfort of your home. Unlike clinic-based therapy, our service eliminates the need for transportation, providing convenience for seniors. Observing and addressing mobility challenges in the home environment makes our approach more effective, yielding better results and potentially preventing future injuries. Plus, our specialized focus on seniors over 65 sets us apart, offering a unique and tailored experience without additional cost.

  • How many physical therapy sessions do I need? How long are the sessions?
The number of sessions varies based on individual needs. During the first appointment, we conduct an initial evaluation and discuss your goals. The duration can range from two sessions to around 20 weeks, tailored to your unique requirements. The physical therapy sessions take place twice a week in your home and last 40-60 minutes each.
  • Are there any exercises I can do on my own?
A: Not only can you, but you should! Consider it akin to following the doctor's orders—exercise instead of taking prescription pills. You'll receive a set of tailored exercises to do between sessions, designed to match your abilities and accelerate your improvement without overwhelming you.
